Fume Extraction Systems

COSHH refers to a law that aims to protect employees in the workplace. It stands for ‘’Control of Substances Hazardous to Health’’ and requires employers to control employee exposure to toxic or harmful substances. This is especially important in an industrial or commercial environment, where harmful fumes are generated, and chemicals are used. In line with COSHH, employers must have proper procedures and systems in place to mitigate both exposure and risk of exposure to harmful substances.

Specialist machinery called fume extraction systems are used which rely on fans and filtration to pull in harmful chemicals, fumes and particles. Extraction can be useful in a large number of applications: from welding environments to commercial manufacturing. It is a legal requirement for employers to consider and create a strategy which tackles fume extraction.
